AI Express flight to Sharjah makes precautionary landing at TVM
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: An Air India Express flight travelling from Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli to Sharjah faced technical difficulties shortly after its take-off on Monday, and was diverted to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport where it landed safely, Airport sources said.
The airport authorities declared a full emergency at the International Airport.
The flight, IX 613, with 154 passengers and six crew onboard departed from Tiruchirappalli at around 10:45 a.m. and the flight landed safely at Thiruvananthapuram at 12:01 p.m., an Air India spokesperson said.
AI Express said that it was just a precautionary landing.
The airport authority also informed that another Air India Express flight, IX 573 Thiruvananthapuram-Bahrain, with 180 passengers, had aborted take-off due to technical reasons at 11:06 a.m.
