Agitating farmers to mark 7 months of protest marching to New Delhi
text_fieldsNew Delhi: To observe their seven months of protest against the Centre enacted three farm laws, the farmers camping at Delhi's borders have decided to take their protest to the national capital today.
Reports suggested that thousands of farmers with tractors are all set to move towards the national capital. Farmers associated with the Samyukt Kisan Morcha will take out a march raising 'Kheti Bachao, Loktantra Bachao' - Save agriculture, Save Democracy - slogan on Saturday.
The rally that coincides with the 46th anniversary of the promulgation of the Emergency will also witness farmers pledging their commitment to upholding the Constitutional values.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha also wanted farmers across the country to submit their memorandum addressing the President against the farm law before respective governors.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha, the umbrella set-up of the different farmers' unions, has also decided to intensify their agitation on the occasion of their protest completing seven months.
Anticipating a rush, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to close some of the stations. "As advised by Delhi Police, in view of security reasons, three Metro stations of Yellow Line namely, Vishwavidyalaya, Civil Lines and Vidhan Sabha will remain closed for the public from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm on Saturday," DMRC said in a statement.
