Actor Mansoor Khan to Congress; says PM Modi spreads hatred

Chennai: Actor Mansoor Ali Khan approached the Congress party and expressed his wish to join it. On Thursday, the Tamil Desiya Puligal Party founder submitted an application to the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) regarding the same.
He met TNCC president K Selvaperunthagai at the TNCC headquarters, Sathyamurthy Bhavan, and submitted his application to join the party.
Khan, who contested as an independent candidate from Vellore Lok Sabha Constituency, said that he wanted to join the party to make either Priyanka Gandhi Vadra or Rahul Gandhi the prime minister of India.
He later told reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was spreading hatred through his hate speech in Rajasthan, distorting former PM Manmohan Singh’s words in 2006. He was trying to instigate communal violence in the country. He said that the Election Commission must take immediate action against Modi.
