Abhijeet Dipke diagnosed with typhoid; protest will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns

New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke has been diagnosed with typhoid. Abhijeet himself shared the information in a video posted on social media.

He is currently undergoing treatment. Dipke said the students’ protest will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. He added that he thanked those who came out across the country in support of the agitation, saying the protest has been a major success and that he will not back down from the resignation demand.

The third round of talks between CJP representatives and the central government, scheduled for 3:30 pm today, is seen as crucial. The meeting comes at a time when both sides remain firm in their positions, with CJP insisting that the protest will not end until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, while the Centre is also standing by its stance. The government said in yesterday’s talks that it could announce its position on Pradhan’s resignation today. The two-hour discussion was held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi.

During the talks, the government has in principle accepted demands including Rs 1 crore compensation for the families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide following the paper leak, and the withdrawal of FIRs registered against students who protested peacefully, along with a commitment not to take retaliatory action in future.

However, no decision has yet been taken on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The future of the protest now depends on the government’s response on that issue. The CJP leadership says it will not end the agitation unless Pradhan steps down. If he does not resign, the party plans to intensify the protest further.

In the previous round of talks, CJP spokespersons Sourav Das and Atosh Ranga had put forward three major demands to Union ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Prasad, who represented the central government, along with five reform proposals on examinations.
