Sanjay Singh will not bow down: AAP workers protest demanding Singh’s release

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers took to the streets to protest against the arrest of MP Sanjay Singh by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy.
AAP workers gathered at the party office at DDU Marg, raising slogans against the Centre and demanding the release of Sanjay Singh.
The party alleges that Singh's arrest is politically motivated, linking it to his parliamentary discussions on issues related to the Adani Group. The protesters held posters with defiant slogans, including 'Sanjay Singh jhukenge nahi' and 'INDIA,' emphasizing their determination.
Slogans, including 'loktantra me Hitler shahi nahi chalegi' (No Hitler regime in democracy)' 'pradhan mantra hosh me aao,' (Wake up Prime Minister) 'kuch bhi karlo, BJP haregi,' (Do whatever but BJP will lose) and 'ruke na jo, jhuke na jo, hum woh inquilab hai,' (We are that rebellion that can't be stopped, bow down) were also heard, raised by AAP supporters.
Protests have not been confined to Delhi, as demonstrations erupted in other parts of the country. In Mumbai's Ballard Estate area, several agitators were detained outside the Enforcement Directorate office. The agitators, reportedly plan to march towards the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters after their leaders' addresses.
Sanjay Singh was arrested after over 10 hours of questioning at his Delhi residence. As he emerged from his home, a smiling Singh waved at a crowd of supporters. Clashes between the police and AAP supporters ensued during his arrest. The Enforcement Directorate had conducted searches at Singh's residence and several others associated with the AAP MP.
Sanjay Singh is now the third AAP leader to face arrest, following Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, who are currently in jail in separate cases. The political atmosphere is charged with Singh releasing a video message just before his arrest, expressing his readiness to face any consequences.
The situation is evolving, with the AAP and its supporters denouncing what they perceive as political vendetta, while the authorities maintain that the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities.
