AAP leader Sanjay Singh sent to ED custody till October 10
text_fieldsNew Delhi: After being detained in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Case on Wednesday, a Delhi court on Thursday ordered prominent AAP leader Sanjay Singh to be held in the Enforcement Directorate's custody for five days.
Singh was sent to ED custody until October 10 by Special Judge M K Nagpal.
The anti-money laundering agency had sought custodial interrogation of Singh for 10 days.
The ED on Wednesday detained Mr Singh after questioning him for several hours about the Delhi Excise Policy Case, which also involves the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, who is already being held in custody.
Mr Singh, who is thought to be close to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, is the third prominent AAP leader to be detained in less than a year and a half, following the detention of former Delhi Public Works Department Minister Satyendar Jain on May 30 of last year in connection with an alleged money laundering case.
