New Delhi: After alleging that its candidate for Surat ( East) was kidnapped, the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday added that Kanchan Jariwala is forced to withdraw his nomination in the Gujarat Assembly polls.

Jariwala, who is declared to fight the BJP's incumbent lawmaker Arvind Rana, has allegedly been missing along with his family since Tuesday.

APP leaders opened fierce attack against the BJP with AAP leader Raghav Chandha alleging that Jariwala was dragged to RO office by police and BJP " goons", forcing him to withdraw nomination.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal tweeted alleging that Jariwala was forced to withdraw nomination, and asked the meaning of the election to be taking place in Gujarat.

The national convener of AAP earlier in another tweet raised missing of his candidate for Surat( East),suggesting that he may have been kidnapped.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that the BJP kidnapped Jariwala fearing failure in Surat ( East), adding that the candidate's phone was switched of and his family missing.

"This is a danger to democracy. This raises questions on the Election Commission (EC)," Sisodia was quoted as saying.

AAP is projecting itself direct rival against the ruling the BJP, and has nearly outshined the Congress in the early phase of campaigning.

Apparently, AAP is causing headache to the BJP in the state as it started questioning the BJP's much touted Gujarat model.

The two-phase Gujarat elections will be held on December 1 and December 5. The AAP has so far announced 130 candidates for the 182-member Assembly, while the BJP has fielded 160 candidates in its first list.
