New Delhi: The significant security breach that occurred at the Parliament on Wednesday led to the suspension of up to eight security officials by the Lok Sabha secretariat. The Winter Session of Parliament convened this morning with significantly increased security. Leaders of the opposition sought a discussion on the security breach, which led to chaos in both Houses. Both Houses have been adjourned.

The Delhi Police announced that the four individuals detained in connection with the security breach in the Parliament had been charged under the anti-terror Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) following hours of questioning. This occurred one day after two individuals, during the afternoon, leapt into the chamber from the public gallery and opened canisters that released a yellow gas. They were both taken into custody, Indian Express reported.

Two other people, a man and a woman, were apprehended by local police in a separate incident while they were protesting outside the Parliament with yellow smoke. Police have also detained a fifth person who is said to have been involved in the plan's development.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered an investigation into the breach case at the request of the Lok Sabha Secretariat. Members can be seen trying to apprehend the intruders, who have been identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D as they move from desk to desk. Moments afterwards, both Houses were adjourned. Neelam,42, and Amol Shinde,25, were arrested by local police outside the Parliament building in New Delhi's Transport Bhavan as they were protesting with yellow smoke.

Security reinforced in Parliament the complex day after breach

Strict measures were implemented in and around the building on Thursday, a day after a security breach in Parliament, with police and Parliament security personnel carefully checking the credentials of anyone entering the compound.

Only a few metres from the Parliament complex, security guards stationed outside Transport Bhavan would not permit anyone to pass through barricades unless they had verified their identity.
