Delhi Police dismantled a terror network tied to Pakistan's ISI and Bangladesh extremists, arresting eight suspects from Tamil Nadu and West Bengal on Sunday. Officials suspect the group, directed by foreign handlers, planned a major strike in India.
Six Bangladeshi nationals—Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Shabat, Umar, Mohammad Litan, Mohammad Shahid, and Mohammed Ujjal—were detained from Tiruppur garment factories using fake Aadhaar cards. Two others were arrested in West Bengal. Their Bangladesh-based Kashmiri handler orchestrated the plot, per preliminary probes.
The module surfaced via "Free Kashmir" posters at over 10 Delhi spots, including the Metro. This followed a high alert over LeT's potential IED attacks on Delhi temples near Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Special Cell raids, aided by local police, yielded eight phones and 16 SIMs for forensic analysis.
The bust echoes a recent doctors' module linked to J&K posters and a Faridabad blast. Police hail it as a key win against cross-border threats; investigations probe funding, more operatives, and ties.
