Chennai: Actor Daniel Balaji, who worked mostly in Tamil movies, died at a hospital in Chennai last night following a heart attack.
The 48-year-old was rushed to the hospital after he complained of chest pain, NDTV reported.
Actor Daniel Balaji’s death has come as a shock to the Tamil movie industry and his fans.
As the news broke, his fans began pouring out tributes on the social media.
His body has been taken to his Purasaiwakkam home for cremation, NDTV reported.
Balaji began as a unit production manager for Kamal Haasan's unfinished 'Marudhunayagam', before moving to television.
He earned the screen name Daniel Balaji after his character in Radikaa Sarathkumar's 'Chithhi'.
His movie debut was with the 2002 Tamil film 'April Madhathil'.
Balaji, who starred in several Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada movies, was last seen in 'Ariyavan'.
