47th GST Council meeting to be held on June 28-29 in Srinagar

NEW DELHI: The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, will meet on June 28 and 29 in Srinagar.
"The 47th meeting of the GST Council will be held on June 28-29, 2022 (Tuesday & Wednesday) in Srinagar," Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's office tweeted on Thursday.
The council meeting is important as it expects to discuss the report of the panel of State Ministers on rate rationalisation and the GST rates on casinos, race courses and online gaming.
The meeting was initially scheduled for April, but was postponed to this month because of the Finance Ministers other commitments.
Chaired by Union Finance Minister, The GST Council, and comprising state counterparts, is also expected to discuss certain simplifications in procedures.
