4-year-old girl hacked to death in Gujarat, police suspect human sacrifice

Chhota Udaipur (Gujarat): A four-year-old girl was allegedly hacked to death with an axe by her neighbour in a suspected human sacrifice case in Gujarat’s Chhota Udaipur district on Monday, news agency ANI reported.

The horrific incident that took place in Bodeli taluka came to light after the girl’s mother reported it, ANI reported citing Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Gaurav Agarwal.

It is reported citing officials that the victim’s blood was seen spilled on the steps of the neighbour Lala Bhai Tadvi's temple, giving rise to suspicion of human sacrifice.

ASP Gaurav Agarwal reportedly said: ‘A murder occurred in Bodeli taluka of Chhota Udepur district, where a woman reported her daughter being attacked and killed by her neighbour Lala Bhai Tadvi. The victim's blood was poured on the stairs of his temple, suggesting it could be a human sacrifice.’

Meanwhile, the accused, Lala Bhai Tadvi is being currently questioned in the custody.

ASP Gaurav Agarwal added that the probe is underway to confirm if Tadvi received any help in the horrific act.

Alongside, the police are also looking into possible motives stemming from any prior disputes between the neighbours.
