33.28 crore covid vaccines administered countrywide: Union Ministry

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that India's cumulative vaccination coverage has increased to 33.28 crores as per the provisional report till 7 AM on Wednesday. A total of 33,28,54,527 vaccines have been administered across the country through 44,33,853 sessions.

Daily cases in the country have been below 50,000 over the past three days. The active caseload is also witnessing a continuous fall and stands at 5,37,064; about 1.77 per cent of the country's total positive cases. Furthermore, India's recoveries have topped daily new cases for 48 days now. The recovery rate of 96.92 per cent has been increasing and over 2,94,27,330 people have recovered from the infection since the onset of the pandemic.

Testing has also been ramped up. India has conducted over 41.01 crore tests so far, of which 19,60,757 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Despite increased testing, India's positivity rate has been below 5 per cent for 23 consecutive days now. The weekly positivity rate presently stands at 2.69 per cent and the daily positivity rate at 2.34 per cent.
