3 Khalistani terrorists, who attacked Punjab police post, killed in UP
text_fieldsPilibhit: Three Khalistani terrorists belonging to a banned outfit were killed in encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district early on Monday, India Today reported.
Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh, linked to Khalistan Commando Force, were accused of having attacked a police post in Punjab's Gurdaspur district.
Following the joint encounter, Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police seized two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and several live rounds from their custody.
The operation was launched after a team of Punjab police informed Pilibhit Police about the presence of the terrorists under the jurisdiction of the Puranpur police station of the district.
The encounter broke out early on Sunday morning after police cornered the three accused.
A senior official of the Pilibihit Police stated that ‘The accused fired at the police team on being challenged and in the retaliatory firing, they were killed. The joint operation was conducted by teams of Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police. The Punjab Police team also told us about their foreign connections. A probe has been launched into the entire incident.’
On December 21, an explosion took place at the abandoned police post in Kalanaur sub-division of Gurdaspur district. However, no casualty was reported.
