New Delhi: The Delhi Police last week arrested two men from Gujarat’s Rajkot for allegedly claiming they were carrying a nuclear bomb.

They made the claim after having been dissatisfied with frisking at the IGI Airport, The Indian Express reported.

The passengers, Jignesh Malan and Kashyap Kumar Lalani questioned security screening.

They reportedly said they were screened before boarding the flight to Ahmedabad on April 5.

Even as the officials explained security protocol, one of them claimed they were carrying a nuclear bomb, according to the report.

Subsequently, they were prevented from boarding the aircraft in view of ensuring safety to other passengers.

Acting on the complaint against them, they were charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 182 and 505 (1)(b) on April 5.

Further investigation into the incident revealed that both the passengers are contractors for construction industry in Rajkot.

The passengers, who were released on bail, had travelled to Dwarka in Delhi in order to meet a business associate for the purchase of SS Railings material.
