Bhopal: A 13-year-old boy died while dancing to ‘dangerously loud’ DJ music played outside his residence in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal.

Samar Billore, who joined the others grooving to music played on the amplifier during local festival celebrations, collapsed and doctors later confirmed he died of heart failure.

People around him went on dancing even as his mother, Jamuna Devi, cried for help, NDTV reported.

Jamuna Devi said that her son had ‘a heart condition, but he was fine’, and his father Kailash Billore said the DJ was ‘dangerously loud’.

Kailash Billore said the sound system was not turned off despite warnings, adding ‘It felt like nothing could stop that noise, even as our son's life slipped away.’

It is found in a probe by NDTV team that noise levels in places including Gautam Nagar, Jamboori Maidan, Jahangirabad, and Govindpura are far above permissible limits reaching between 90 to 100 decibels.

The incident was reported while rules do not allow sound levels exceeding 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night in residential areas.

However, in silent zones the permitted rage is 50 decibels during day and 40 at night.

The rules are not yet enforced despite guidelines from the Supreme Court and directives by chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav.

Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra said that despite instructions are given to organisations in advance, ‘ the noise often continues’.

Exposure to loud noise could cause health issues ranging from ear pain to hearing loss and increased hear rate to high blood pressure.

Loud noise, according to cardiologist Kislay Srivastava, could trigger irregular heartbeats, potentially leading to fatal outcomes.
