Surat: At Least 13 labourers hailing from Rajasthan were killed late Monday night after a truck veered off the road and ran over them in the Kosamba city of Gujarat.
Speaking to news agency ANI, the police said that all the deceased were labourers and hailing from Rajasthan. 'A truck collided with a tractor loaded with sugar cane after which the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle and drove it over the pavement where the labourers were sleeping," CM Jadeja, Superintendent of Police, Kamrej Division told ANI news.
Six labourers who have suffered injuries in the accident are currently hospitalised.
