11-yr-old girl abducted, crushed to death with stone in Jharkhand
text_fieldsHazaribagh, Jharkhand: In a horrifying incident that has shaken the local community, an 11-year-old girl was abducted, allegedly sexually assaulted, and brutally murdered in the Bishnugarh police station area of Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district. Police said the crime took place on Tuesday evening, and the victim’s mutilated body was discovered by villagers the following morning near a bamboo grove, approximately 500 metres from her village.
The girl had been attending a ‘Mangla Julus’ procession, held ahead of the Ram Navami festival, when she went missing. Her family reported her disappearance after she did not return home by 8 p.m., prompting an overnight search in the village and surrounding areas.
According to police, preliminary investigations suggest the girl was abducted, sexually assaulted, and then killed by crushing her face and genital area with a heavy stone. A forensic team and dog squad have visited the crime scene to collect evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Bishnugarh police station officer-in-charge, Swapan Kumar Mahatha, confirmed that no arrests have been made yet. Sub-divisional Police Officer Baijnath Prasad said all angles of the case are being probed, and some suspects have been detained for questioning.
The gruesome nature of the crime has left the village in mourning and heightened tension among residents. Locals are demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators. Police have urged the public to remain calm, avoid rumours, and allow the investigation to proceed.
Authorities have assured strict legal action against those responsible, emphasizing the use of scientific and forensic methods to ensure justice.
