London: Christian Eriksen's stunning 88th minute strike gave Tottenham Hotspur a crucial win over relegation-threatened Brighton and Hove Albion.  Brighton fought hard to keep Spurs away from scoring, but Eriksen’s stunning left foot hit from 25 yards gave Brighton the heart break.

First half lacked lively encounters except Dele Alli’s effort on 44th minute blocked by Brighton goalkeeper Matt Ryan. A change in strategy made Tottenham better in second half.  Toby Alderweireld’s hit beat Brighton goalkeeper but hit the bottom of the post.   Brighton’s deep and intense defence kept Tottenham away from goal till Eriksen’s 88th minute winner.

Spurs struggling at front with irreplaceable Harry Kane injured, Pochettino went on to experiment Vincent Janssen who was sidelined since August 2017.

With Chelsea and Arsenal dropping points in their last fixtures against Burnley and Crystal Palace respectively,  Tottenham now sit 3rd in the table with 70 points an are the favorites to qualify first for next season’s UEFA Champions League among the three.
