YRF Spy Universe line-up till 2025 revealed, Pathaan Vs Tiger up soon

Yash Raj Films has broken the dry spell of Bollywood with Pathaan's worldwide collection of Rs 1050 crores and the Spy Universe is planning to keep up its momentum.

Tiger 3 is all set for a Diwali release later this year and Shah Rukh Khan is set to make a cameo appearance. Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai were also blockbusters. War, the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2019, is also set to have a sequel. War 2 is rumoured to be directed by Ayan Mukerji and will be released in late 2024 or early 2025.

While there has been no official announcement about Ayan's involvement, his Instagram post has kickstarted rumours. "The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently, a very special movie to step into and direct! What the movie is... More on that when the time is right. An opportunity that challenges me and terribly excites me... one where I will learn, be inspired, and where I will grow! So, I have decided to take it up."

"Aditya Chopra is choosing the captain of the ship for each YRF Spy Universe film strategically. Ayan has delivered big hits which appeal to all audience segments and have the pulse of Indian audiences. He has shown that he knows how to mount a film on a huge scale, which is essential for someone to direct War 2. Plus, he is a young filmmaker who can bring a different kind of newness to the Spy Universe. Ayan will have his unique take on how to make an epic action spectacle with War 2. Aditya Chopra trusts him to take the franchise forward," said an industry insider.

These are expected to form the base for the biggest film in the YRF Spy Universe 'Pathaan Vs Tiger'. As the name suggests, the film will have SRK and Salman Khan going against each other. According to sources, the film will begin where War 2 ends. Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif will be reprising their roles and shooting will start next year. It is expected to be in theaters by the end of 2025.
