Entertainment: Grammy Award-winning pop star Shakira’s much-anticipated India concerts scheduled for April have been postponed amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, dampening excitement among fans in Mumbai and Delhi.

The shows were part of the “Feeding India Concert 2026,” an initiative jointly organised by Zomato’s District platform and Feeding India. The concerts were slated to take place on April 10 at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse and on April 15 at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Organisers announced the postponement, citing safety concerns arising from the prevailing regional situation. They emphasised that the well-being of fans, artists, and the production team remains their top priority. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, which will be automatically processed through their original modes of payment.

The organisers added that discussions are ongoing with the artist’s team to reschedule the performances, with revised dates to be announced once confirmed. Despite the delay, they reiterated that the event's core mission remains unchanged.

The “Feeding India Concert 2026” aims to raise awareness about hunger and malnutrition, aligning with the United Nations’ goal of achieving a hunger-free world by 2030. The initiative seeks to mobilise public support and resources toward improving nutrition for vulnerable communities across India.

Shakira had earlier expressed enthusiasm about returning to India, describing the concerts as an opportunity to reconnect with fans in Mumbai and Delhi. She also highlighted that the event goes beyond music, focusing on ensuring access to proper nutrition for children in need.

The postponement leaves fans awaiting new dates while underscoring the broader humanitarian focus of the concert series.
