Stree 2 becomes highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 has made history by becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film ever in India.
Released on August 15, the movie has amassed over Rs 586 crore at the domestic box office after 34 days, surpassing the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (Rs 582.31 crore).
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the milestone on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "Stree 2 scripts HISTORY... Becomes the HIGHEST-GROSSING HINDI FILM EVER... Next stop: Inaugurating the Rs 600 cr Club."
Maddock Films, the production house behind Stree 2, confirmed the achievement with a celebratory poster and message thanking fans for their support: "Stree has finally proven it... the film has become India’s highest-grossing Hindi film of all time! A big thank you to all fans for making history with us."
Rajkummar Rao expressed his excitement over the film’s box office success in an interview with News18. He shared that while they anticipated a positive response due to the popularity of the original Stree, the overwhelming numbers were beyond their expectations. "We are glad and super elated. There's a lot of gratitude that this is happening with a content-driven film like Stree," he said.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 also features Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles, with special appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia, Akshay Kumar, and Varun Dhawan.
The film is a sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree and part of Dinesh Vijan's expanding horror-comedy universe, which includes Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya.
Stree 2 continues to run successfully in theaters.
