Spotify gives facelift to its desktop app
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Spotify announces a facelift to its streaming service on the desktop, launching a redesigned app for Mac, Windows and an updated web app. The desktop version of the platform is to receive an interface similar to its mobile app. Also, the redesign brings many "cosmetic changes", and some features would find new places in the app, IANS reported.
"Since the desktop experience served as the original window to the world for Spotify, this was not a task we took lightly. It took months of tests and research, talking to users, and gathering feedback. Now, we're pleased to deliver a new, clean design, more controls, and a great new foundation for our listeners to use Spotify across our desktop app and web player for the years to come," the company said in a statement.
The update would enable Spotify Premium users to download songs on the desktop app. The search tool is shifted to the left side of the navigation page, which was on top of the home screen earlier, and a search bar is also added to the playlists.
The new design is already out for users globally but will take weeks to reach everyone.
