Soorarai Pottru sets new milestone, becomes 3rd highest rated film on IMDb

Tamil superstar Suriya's well acclaimed movie "Soorarai Pottru" on Amazon Prime Video has achieved the rare feat of becoming the third highest rated film on IMDb with a 9.1 rating.
The movie went on to beat Hollywood classics like The Dark Night and Schindler's List achieve this new milestone.
The film directed by Sudha Kongara was recently selected for Shanghai International Film Festival 2021.
The movie is inspired from the real life of the retired army officer-turned-businessman GR Gopinath, who launched India's first budget airline, Air Deccan in 2003.
The film got dubbed in Kannada and Malayalam under the same title and in Telugu as Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa
Starring an ensemble cast of Paresh Rawal, Aparna Balamurali, Urvashi, Mohan Babu, and Karunas, Soorarai Pottru received positive reviews from audience and critics alike.
Soorarai Pottru was also selected as one among ten Indian films to be screened under the best foreign film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards
