Sonakshi Sinha weds Zaheer Iqbal in an intimate civil ceremony

Sonakshi Sinha has tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Zaheer Iqbal, in a private ceremony held at her new apartment, 81 Aureate in Mumbai, on Sunday.
The couple shared the joyful news through a joint social media post, featuring enchanting photos from their civil wedding.
In the shared images, Sonakshi looks radiant in a white saree, adorned with minimal makeup and jewelry, and flowers in her hair. Zaheer complemented her in a white kurta. One of the photos captures a tender moment where Zaheer kisses Sonakshi's hand. Another picture shows Sonakshi holding her father Shatrughan Sinha's arm while Zaheer signs the marriage documents. The final picture captures the newlyweds posing happily for the camera.
Sonakshi penned a heartfelt note along with the pictures, stating, "On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017), we saw love in its purest form in each other's eyes and decided to hold on to it. Today, that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs, leading to this moment where, with the blessings of both our families and our gods, we are now man and wife. Here's to love, hope, and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever." She concluded with, "Sonakshi weds Zaheer. 23.06.2024."
The couple registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act, with the ceremony taking place at Sonakshi's new residence near the Rang Sharda Auditorium in Bandra West, Mumbai, reported IANS.
Post-wedding, Shatrughan Sinha expressed his joy, saying, "Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe (May their union stay strong forever)." He attended the wedding with his wife, Poonam.
The intimate wedding was attended by close family and friends, including Sonakshi's best friend Huma Qureshi, her brother Saqib Saleem, Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé Siddharth, Arpita Khan, and Aayush Sharma.
Sonakshi and Zaheer, who co-starred in the 2022 film "Double XL," reportedly began dating in 2020. Following their civil wedding, the couple plans to host a celebratory reception tonight at a Mumbai restaurant owned by Shilpa Shetty, marking the final leg of their wedding festivities.
