Mumbai: Award-winning author Soma Bose unveiled her highly anticipated second book, 'I've Had Enough of You', at an elegant launch event in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 20. The book, a collection of five evocative short stories, delves into themes of love, loss, empowerment, and societal expectations, showcasing Bose’s talent for crafting poignant narratives that resonate deeply with readers.

The evening began with an enchanting reading session featuring celebrated actors Suchitra Pillai, Joy Sengupta, and Sid Makkar. Their compelling renditions of selected passages from the book captivated the audience and set the tone for an insightful event.

A panel discussion followed, featuring Soma Bose alongside noted sociologist and Mumbai LitFest associate Dr. Reena Agarwal, author Nandita Puri, and actor Joy Sengupta. Moderated by veteran journalist and author Roshmila Bhattacharya, the discussion explored challenges faced by modern writers, particularly in publishing short stories, and reminisced about the golden era of television that brought short story adaptations to life.

The event’s highlight was the formal unveiling of the book by National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and acclaimed actor Swastika Mukherjee. During an engaging dialogue moderated by Bhattacharya, the duo lauded the book’s exploration of women's empowerment, societal expectations, and resilience. They praised Bose’s storytelling and expressed hope for her work to reach broader audiences through OTT platforms or cinematic adaptations.

Speaking about the title of her book, Bose explained that it came to her during a period of 10 days when she was locked in with her husband. "It stuck with me," she shared during the discussion. "While writing these stories, I knew the title had to stay. I hope this book strikes a deep connection with readers, just like my first. I am deeply grateful to my publishers, Virasat, and extend heartfelt thanks to Chaity Ghosh and Subhojit Roy for their unwavering support."

Bose’s latest work builds on the success of her debut book, Frenny and Other Women You Have Met, which earned critical acclaim for its exploration of human relationships. With 'I've Had Enough of You', Bose continues to champion women’s stories, celebrating themes of strength, perseverance, and self-discovery.

'I've Had Enough of You' is published by Virasat and is now available at leading bookstores and online platforms, promising a compelling read for those who cherish stories of empowerment and resilience.
