Bollywood actress Sobhita Dhulipalia recently revealed that she has bagged a role in the debut directorial venture of Oscar-winning actor Dev Patel, a film which was recently picked up by Netflix for $30 billion.

"I had auditioned for it almost five years ago and I got a call back in a few days for a screen test with Dev," the actress was quoted as saying by 'The Indian Express'.

"What appealed to me about the project is that it's a collaborative spirit, a young and rather eccentric approach to the story, and most certainly the people involved."

Titled 'Monkey Man', the film revolves around a man who is released from jail and seeks revenge on those who put him there. The bulk of the film was shot in Indonesia under pandemic restrictions. Dhulipalia also said that she was happy to see an era of "potent crossovers" between Eastern and Western approaches to filmmaking.

The actress also has several major upcoming projects in India, such as Dulquer Salman's 'Kurup', Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyan Selvan' and will be reprising a role in the television series 'Made in Heaven'.
