Shatrughan Sinha to attend daughter Sonakshi's wedding, "she is his laadli"
text_fieldsPahlaj Nihalani has confirmed that Shatrughan Sinha will attend his daughter Sonakshi Sinha's wedding to Zaheer Iqbal, quashing rumors of family discord.
Speaking to Times Now, Nihalani explained that Shatrughan Sinha's earlier comments about being unaware of the wedding were due to his three-month absence from Mumbai for election duties. He assured that there are no issues between Sonakshi and her family, and all is well now that Shatrughan Sinha has returned.
Addressing questions about Shatrughan Sinha's reaction, Nihalani emphasized that while Shatrughan might have been momentarily upset about not being informed sooner, he couldn't stay upset with Sonakshi for long. "She is his laadli (darling). There's no question of him not attending the wedding," Nihalani said.
He also highlighted that today's children inform their parents rather than seeking permission, and that Shatrughan himself had married a partner of his choice 40 years ago.
In a prior interview with Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha mentioned he was in Delhi and had not discussed the wedding plans with anyone. He expressed his trust in Sonakshi's judgement and assured that he and his wife would give their blessings once informed. He humorously added that he would like to be dancing in front of the baaraat at his daughter's wedding and acknowledged the modern trend of children informing rather than seeking consent from their parents.
Rumors of Sonakshi Sinha's wedding surfaced after an India Today report indicated that she and Zaheer Iqbal were set to marry on June 23. The report mentioned that invitations had already been sent to close friends, family, and the cast of "Heeramandi," with the festivities to be held at Bastian in Mumbai.
However, the couple has yet to confirm the date officially.
