Raj & DK unveil new action fantasy series "Rakt Bramhand" with "Tumbbad" director

Celebrated filmmakers Raj & DK, known for their work on "The Family Man" and "Farzi," have announced their latest venture, an action fantasy series titled "Rakt Bramhand - The Bloody Kingdom."

This project marks a collaboration with Rahi Anil Barve, the director behind the critically acclaimed film "Tumbbad."

The series, which was initially titled "Rakhtabeej," stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

It has now been officially revealed as "Rakt Bramhand," with Raj & DK sharing the first look on social media. The announcement poster features the title and the phrase "Now Filming," signaling the commencement of production. Raj & DK expressed their excitement on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "We’ve got BIGGGGGG news that’ll stir your blood! We’re pumped to announce our first ever action-fantasy series."

Fans responded enthusiastically, expressing high expectations for the series.

Many praised the filmmakers' past projects and voiced their anticipation for this new collaboration, which will be the duo's first series for Netflix. Raj & DK have previously partnered with Amazon Prime Video for popular series like "The Family Man" and "Farzi," and are also working on the upcoming "Citadel: Honey Bunny."

Rahi Anil Barve, who is at the helm of "Rakt Bramhand," brings his experience from "Tumbbad," a 2018 folk horror film that has garnered a cult following. Barve shared his excitement on social media, reflecting on his journey and the upcoming projects. He mentioned that "Rakt Bramhand" is the third of three projects he pitched simultaneously over a decade ago, expressing optimism for the future.

In an interview with Variety, Raj & DK discussed their vision for "Rakt Bramhand," aiming to create a fictional world that captures the essence of fantastical tales from their childhood. Alongside Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the series is set to feature actors Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi.
