Pushpa 2 demeans police force: Cong MLC's petition against Allu Arjun
text_fieldsHyderabad: The Congress MLC in Telangana Chintapandu Naveen lodged a complaint with the Rachakonda Police against the actors, director, and producers of the movie Pushpa 2. His complaint, filed on Monday, alleged that the movie has scenes that insult police officials and portray them as corrupt.
The movie also features a scene in which the hero can be seen urinating in a swimming pool while an IPS officer is present, which is disrespectful to the police force, the complaint claimed, PTI reported.
Mallanna has claimed that some of these scenes are degrading and could lead to a loss of trust in constitutional organizations. The MLC urged the police to ensure that some of the scenes are removed and action is taken against the actors, director and producers of the Pushpa 2 movie.
Meanwhile, police grilled Allu Arjun for more than three hours over the unfortunate death of a woman and the grave state of her son after both became victims of a stampede at a theatre where Pushpa 2 was going to premiere earlier this month.
The actor reached the Chikkadpally police station accompanied by his father, Allu Aravind, and lawyers a little after 11 am, and the questioning was held till 2:45 pm. A police team led by Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav questioned the actor.
“He cooperated with the police fully. If required, they said they'd call him again. They (the police) wanted to question him, and he cooperated. They treated him very well,” Arjun's advocate Ashok Reddy told PTI.
The interrogation centred around Allu Arjun's entry into the theatre, exit and role of bouncers in crowd control near the star, according to sources.
The police had also posed questions about whether he was aware of the permission being denied for his visit, about the details of his private security, about his knowledge of the tragic incident when he was watching the film, and about the sequence of events.
The police alleged that bouncers, who accompanied the star when he arrived for the film screening, allegedly pushed fans, leading to the stampede.
