Priyanka Chopra reveals insensitive remark by American stylist, Law Roach reacts

Los Angeles: Global icon Priyanka Chopra recently said that a Hollywood stylist once insulted her by stating that she is not "sample-sized". She did not name the professional but the incident reduced her to tears.

Speaking to People magazine, Priyanka said: "I’ve been told many things that are difficult to hear. In my job the pressure is so intense, you can’t really show the chinks in your armor. Someone told me yesterday that I wasn’t sample sized. I was hurt and disgusted with my family, and I cried to my husband and my team, and I felt really bad about the fact that I’m not sample size and that that’s a problem apparently, that most of us are not a sample size, which is a two."

Stylist Law Roach quickly reacted to the remarks and said that his comments were taken out of context. He insisted that he was fond of Priyanka and styled her for several red-carpet events. He further said he has never had such a conversation with the Citadel actress and the people in the middle must have misrepresented his words to her.

"It was a little bit hurtful in a way that it ended up in the press, you know? Because that wasn’t the real conversation. I’ve never had that conversation with her, ever," he added.

"It is her gatekeepers, how they presented what I said to her to make her feel that way. I am sure it was taken outta context to get her to be like, 'Oh, okay, I’m not working with him no more. He’s insensitive to my body.' Which I’m like, 'How is that possible? I’ve been dressing you since pre-pandemic, and it’s been nothing but great things," reports The Cut.

When asked if Priyanka's agents were trying to make Roach look bad, he said sometimes agents have an agenda and make the stylist the bad guy. They need the stylist to be the one to say that pictures are not coming across as beautiful because someone is a little "thicker" than they used to be. "I’m the one who’s dealing with the clothes and the body. They’ll (agents) say that to me or have a discussion with me but then take it back as if I was the lead in the discussion."

He clarified that he is not talking about Priyanka's agents or that he is certain that this is what happened. "I’m not saying that’s exactly what happened, but that’s what feels like happened to me."
