Actress Priyanka Chopra has come out in support of her friend and Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai after she unfollowed comedian Hasan Minhaj. Earlier this month, Minhaj took a dig at Malala over following him on Instagram.

In a video, he said: "All right, sh** gotten out of hand. On October 4th I made a joke about Nobel Peace Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai. I said she follows me on Instagram and I don't follow her back. Then on October 5th, she retaliated. She puts up an Instagram story that says 'Should I unfollow Hasan Minhaj? 39% of her voters said 'Who is this man?' 38% of them said 'Yes.' Instead of doing a runoff, she unfollowed me on Instagram. I'm sorry Malala. Follow me back. I don't know if I will follow you, though. I am that petty."

He titled the video "Malala claps back" and tagged her on the reel. The Nobel peace prize winner shared the video on her Instagram stories and wrote: "Thanks to everyone who sent me this because I no longer follow this man."

Now, Priyanka Chopra shared a screenshot of Hasan Minhaj's Instagram page and wrote: "Same girl, same Malala Yousafzai. Guess he prefers petty over funny." She tagged the comedian on the post hours after the video dropped.

Some of Hasan Minhaj's followers also took Malala's side and others connected the video to the new comedy show he was teasing. He will be returning to Netflix with a new special 'Hasan Minhaj: The King's Hester'. Some opined that Malala followed him because she thinks he is funny and he should have followed her back because she is trying to promote women's right to education.
