Kochi: Parvathy Thiruvothu has been removed from the director board of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC).

The decision was reportedly taken by the Kerala Government, with an official order issued to confirm the removal of the prominent actress from her board position. This development follows a recent trend, as Parvathy is not the first board member to be removed from their position. In the preceding month, Shankar Mohan and Mala Parvathy faced similar dismissals as part of the board's reorganisation. Their vacancies were subsequently filled by P Sukumar and Sohan Seenulal.

Interestingly, Parvathy herself had expressed her wish to step down from her directorial board role. She communicated her decision through a letter addressed to the managing director of KSFDC.

Parvathy Thiruvothu, a respected figure within the film fraternity, has an array of promising projects lined up. One of these is the upcoming film "Thangalaan," directed by Ranjith and featuring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead. This movie is anticipated to showcase a new facet of the actress's talents.

Embracing the "less is more" approach, Parvathy has consciously chosen roles that resonate with her artistic sensibilities. Her filmography includes acclaimed works such as "Charlie," "Bangalore Days," "Virus," and "Uyare."

"Thangalaan" also stars Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Daniel Caltagirone. Besides this, Parvathy is involved in another project named "Her," an anthology focusing on women's stories. This venture includes names like Urvashi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Ramya Nambessan, Guru Somasundaram, Lijomol Jose, and Parvathy, and revolves around the lives of five women from diverse backgrounds.

The Kerala State Film Development Corporation, established by the state's government in 1975, serves as a significant institution within the regional film industry.
