NMACC Gala: Gigi Hadid says Varun Dhawan made her Bollywood dreams true

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has been facing backlash for allegedly making an American model uncomfortable and kissing her without consent at the NMACC fashion gala. Most people did not believe the actor when he clarified that the act was planned. Now, Gigi had put the speculations to rest by saying the actor made her Bollywood dreams come true.

The Bhediya actor was performing on the stage. In the viral video, Gigi was seen making her way to the stage and Varun lifted her and spun her. He also gave her a peck on the cheeks before sending her back to the seat.

Netizens slammed Varun for lifting the model in his arms and kissing her allegedly without her consent. Many said a woman in India is not safe anywhere, even amid the elites. Some called the act "disgusting".

Varun tweeted his response and said the act was planned. "I guess today you woke up and decided to be woke. So lemme burst ur bubble and tell u it was planned for her to be on stage so find a new Twitter cause to vent about rather then going out and doing something about thing."

While some people believed him and lauded him for clarifying the truth, others shamed him further for defending his actions.

However, now the supermodel has taken to Instagram. She tagged Varun Dhawan and wrote, "@Varundvn making my Bollywood dreams come true". She also posted a click from the dance video. He promptly replied and wrote, "The sweetest and the cutest. Gigi making my dreams come true."

The first two days of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) launch were filled with stars from India and Hollywood. Several noted Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Aayushman Khurram, Tahira Kashyap, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, and Vicky Kaushal were in attendance. Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Penelope Cruz were among the American celebrities.
