Netflix overtakes Amazon to buy Allu Arjujn's Pushpa 2??
text_fieldsEntertainment: Post the enormous success of Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa: The Rise, the digital rights of its sequel, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, has been acquired by Netflix. The amount offered by the OTT platform is three times higher than what Amazon Prime paid, claims reports.
A report from OTTplay, Pushpa’s creator Mythri Movies sold the digital rights to Netflix. After the theatrical release, the movie will be available on Netflix.
The first instalment of the series marked a significant milestone in Allu Arjun’s career. The movie received critical acclaim as well as box office success. The first part left fans on a cliffhanger, creating anticipation for the second part. It is expected to be released in theatres on August 15, 2024.
The first instalment of the movie’s digital rights was bought by Amazon Prime Video for a substantial amount.
Meanwhile, it is rumoured that actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is to feature a song in the second instalment and shooting for the same will start soon. However, there is no official confirmation on it from the makers.
Pushpa 2 features Rashmika Mandanna, Fahad Faasil, Anasuya Bhardwaj and Ajay Ghosh, while Allu Arjun handles the central character. The movie will be released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The Sukumar directorial is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music while Miroslaw Kuba Brozek handled cinematography.
