The directors claim that Manjummel Boys has surpassed all previous Malayalam film industry records for worldwide box office receipts. This is the first Malayalam movie to reach this milestone without being dubbed in another language.

The previous top-grossing Malayalam film was 2018: Everyone is a Hero, a multi-starrer movie that was inspired by actual events related to the Kerala floods of 2018. The actor Mohanlal's Pulimurugan (2016), which stood for seven years, was reportedly surpassed by the multi-starrer flick.

Manjummel Boys' producers had previously asserted that their movie was the fastest Malayalam film to reach the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. Industry insiders claim that the movie's current goal is to become the first Malayalam movie to earn Rs 200 crores worldwide, the New Indian Express reported.

Apart from its remarkable triumph in Kerala, the movie is having an amazing run in Tamil Nadu, surpassing more Tamil films. Trade analysts claim that Manjummel Boys is currently the highest-grossing Malayalam movie in both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The Chidambaram-directed movie debuted on February 22 and received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Jean Paul Lal, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, and Vishnu Reghu play important roles in this survival thriller, which is based on true events.

Editor Vivek Harshan, production designer Ajayan Chalissery, composer Sushin Shyam, and cinematographer Shyju Khalid make up the technical team. Shawn Antony, Babu Shahir, and Soubin Shahir jointly produced the film.
