Director Kamal Jain and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut have joined hands once more after 2019's 'Manikarnika' to produce a sequel based on the life of Queen Didda of Kashmir.

The sequel will be titled "Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda".

"Our India has been witness to the story of many bravehearts like the Rani of Jhansi. Another such untold heroic story is that of a queen of Kashmir, who defeated Mahmud Ghaznavi not once but twice," Kangana announced on Twitter.

Didda's reign was recorded in the 'Rajatarangini' by Kalhana in the twelfth century and is one of the few female monarchs in the annals of Indian history.
