Dominic Arun’s dark fantasy superhero film Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra has maintained strong momentum at the box office even after more than two weeks in theatres.

Industry trackers estimate that the Kalyani Priyadarshan-led film earned around ₹6.35 crore on its 17th day, taking its total India net collection past ₹112 crore.

While Priyadarshan’s other recent release, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, failed to make an impact, Lokah continues to surge ahead without slowing down.

Data from Sacnilk shows that the Malayalam version remains the film’s backbone, contributing over ₹86 crore of the total revenue. On Day 17 alone, Malayalam occupancy was reported at nearly 67%, with afternoon shows climbing to an impressive 77%.

Observers note that much of the film’s success is tied to Priyadarshan’s portrayal of Chandra/Neeli, a role she plays with conviction and emotional weight.

She is supported by Naslen K. Gafoor, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and veteran actor Vijayaraghavan, while cameo appearances from Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas add further star power.

Alongside the performances, the film has also been praised for its striking visuals and engaging presentation, TOI reported.

Aside from the audience, other celebrities have expressed their enthusiasm for 'Lokah'. During a recent promotional event for 'Mirai', the actor Jayaram praised Dominic Arun's directing by saying, "I believe it’s a film made on a Rs 30 crore budget. But doesn’t it give us the effect of a film made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore? The technical team deserves 100% applause, and the whole world should watch and learn from it.”

Actor Alia Bhatt shared a note on Instagram that read, "Such a fresh blend of mythic folklore & mystery! So happy to see the love it's getting. This is a step in cinema that I will always be eager to show my love & support for!”
