Laxmi Bomb: Hindu Sena demands title change as it hurts the religious sentiments

The upcoming movie Laxmi Bomb by Akshay Kumar does not seem capable of steering away from controversies. The latest problem is the right-wing Hindu Sena's demand where it has asked to rename the film. It has alleged that the film mocks the name of the Hindu Goddess Laxmi and even hurts the Hindu community's feelings.
They also sought appropriate action against the filmmakers in a letter to the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar.
The National President of the Hindu Army, Vishnu Gupta, said while speaking to media, "If our demands are not met, my Hindu soldiers will oppose this film. If they do not change the name of the film before its release, I appeal to all people associated with Hinduism not to view the film. This is an insult to Goddess Laxmi."
Disney Plus Hotstar revealed that on November 9, the Akshay Kumar-starrer Laxmi Bomb would hit its site. The movie, directed by Raghava Lawrence, is the Hindi remake of Kanchana, a 2011 Tamil horror-comedy. In a crucial role, it also features Kiara Advani.
The hashtag demanding the boycott of the upcoming Akshay Kumar-starred horror-comedy, Laxmi Bomb, has been trending. And in the aftermath of a jewellery ad by Tanishq depicting an inter-caste union, it came under fire from Love Jihad activists who trolled both the film and lead actor Akshay Kumar mercilessly.
"This would be called a communal film and will be banned if the title is MOHAMMAD BOMB. If the guy is Hindu and the girl is Muslim. Just asking. #BoycottLaxmmiBomb," retorted a user. "why Laxmi bomb and not Aysha bomb", suggested another.
The trend did not go down well with the fans of Akshay Kumar who embraced him and launched the # weloveyouakshaykumar hashtag and made it trending.
'Laxmmi Bomb', starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, is scheduled to be released by Raghava Lawrence on the OTT platform on November 9. The film is the remake of Muni 2: Kanchana, a 2011 Tamil film.
