New Delhi: Social media influencer turned actress Kusha Kapila recently took to her Instagram stories to share her experiences regarding the influx of mean comments following her separation from husband Zorawar.

Kusha, known for her humorous videos and millions of Instagram followers, announced her mutual separation from Zorawar two months ago. Since then, she has been the target of negative comments on social media.

In her Instagram story, Kusha wrote, "It's been two months since men (and a small percentage of women) leave such unkind comments on my profile, none of which has anything to do with my work. I often think I will name and shame them, write an article defending myself, call out certain sections of the media but then it hits me how ridiculously privileged I am. I have so many of you supporting me, a solid family, a solid group of friends, social equity. I am getting to dance on a song that I am a part of in an actual feature film. I got this. I genuinely got this."

She accompanied this comment with a dance video where she dances to the track "Nasha" from her upcoming film "Sukhee."

Regarding rumours and controlling her narrative, Kusha previously stated in an interview with News18 that it is challenging for public figures to manage their narrative. She emphasised the futility of bearing the weight of others' opinions and expectations.

In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, she addressed the hate she received and rumours about her dating actor Arjun Kapoor.

"I do understand that this is a part of being a public person. If you are profiting off being a public person toh kuch toh log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna which is going to happen. My life now is just in the service of making my skin thicker and thicker every day and that’s just what I work towards. Every day I have to be immune and I have to be thick-skinned. The scars will begin to heal soon enough," said the influencer.

"I would not like to dignify it with a response. To be really honest, I don’t think something like this needs to be dignified with any kind of response," she said about the dating rumours.

Kusha and Zoeawar Singh Ahluwalia got married in 2017. On 26th June 2023, they announced their mutual separation with a post on Instagram that read: "This hasn't been an easy decision by any measure, but we know it's the right one at this point of our lives ... We gave it our all, until we couldn't anymore."

Many trolled her alleging that she is ditching her husband after finding success.

Zorawar himself defended his former partner by saying that the baseless accusations were vile. "What has transpired over the last 24 hours, with Kusha being subject to vile attacks online makes me sad and disappointed. To attack Kusha's character and paint her as some villain is shameful. Let's all please do better," he wrote.

On the professional front, Kusha Kapila has two upcoming films. She will be seen in "Sukhee," alongside Shilpa Shetty in the lead role, directed by Sonal Joshi. She is also gearing up for the comedy-drama "Thank You For Coming," co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and is set to release in theatres on October 6.
