Kajol announces web series debut with Disney+ Hotstar

Kajol will soon be starring in a web series on Disney+ Hotstar. The OTT platform shared the news on its Instagram page with a video.
The short video was a quirky take on Kajol's iconic film DDLJ. A voiceover was heard saying if she is the same person, she will turn. However, the actress did not appear enthusiastic about turning. But she clearly welcomed the nod to her 1995 film.
A statement from the platform quoted the Bollywood actress saying that exploring a new format is always a challenge but she loves to take them head-on.
The actress said she is an avid fan of digital series and the concept has always been intriguing. "After following cool shows such as Aarya and Rudra, I knew there was no other platform than Disney+ Hotstar to start my series journey."
Gaurav Banerjee, Head Of content at Disney+ Hotstar & HSM Entertainment Network, Disney Star, said the team is excited to have Kajol charm the viewers with her "ethereal screen magic". "With the beloved star, we are setting out on an all-new journey to bring a unique story of love, emotions, and family," he added.
This will be Kajol's debut in the web series, and she already made her OTT debut in 2021 with Netflix film Tribhanga.
In an interview with PTI, Kajol said the series is a story about a woman and her journey. Disney+ Hotstar hasn't yet shared any details about the upcoming project.
