I want to do a gangster film like Scarface or Vaastav, says Ranveer Singh
text_fieldsBollywood actor Ranveer Singh said he wants to do a gangster film like Scarface or Vaastav. He added that it is a genre he wishes to explore.
Speaking to Pinkvilla about his career plans, he said his script selection has changed after the pandemic, and he is now looking to associate himself with films that demand a theatrical experience. His film Cirkus will be released on December 23, Saturday.
The actor said the "whole Gamut of the theatrical exhibition is in a flux." Bollywood has experienced a long dry spell after the pandemic, and the experimental actor opened up about it. "Unexpectedly, some films are doing well, and films you could bet your house on are not. So, there is a bit of confusion, but I would love to associate myself with the films that are meant for a big screen experience because that is very dear to me," he said.
" I want to champion the cause of theatrical viewing, and I would want to be part of those films which can draw audiences to the cinema halls," he added. When asked about why he has slowed down in signing films, he said he wants to be in the moment and enjoy.
Cirkus is a Rohit Shetty directorial also starring Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma. While Ranveer Singh is in a dual role, Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn are in special appearances. It is based on Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors.
