Hyderabad police issues notice to Allu Arjun over KIMS hospital visit
cancel

Hyderabad: The Ramgopalpet Police Station in Hyderabad has issued a notice to actor Allu Arjun, advising him against visiting KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad to meet the boy injured in the stampede at Sandhya Theatre. The notice was issued by the Station House Officer, who recommended that the actor reconsider his public visit to avoid disrupting the hospital's operations and affecting other patients.

Allu Arjun, who had initially planned to visit the hospital on Sunday morning following his appearance at Chikkadpally Police Station as part of his bail conditions, reportedly canceled his visit after receiving the notice.

The notice further advised that if Allu Arjun still wished to proceed with the visit, his management should coordinate with both the hospital authorities and the police to ensure a well-managed entry and exit, minimizing inconvenience to patients and the general public. Additionally, the actor was urged to maintain confidentiality to prevent media gatherings and public disturbances at the hospital.

The police warned that if Allu Arjun failed to cooperate, he would be held accountable for any adverse consequences resulting from his visit.

This comes after a tragic incident on December 4, when an eight-year-old boy, Sri Tej, was injured in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. His mother, Revathi, tragically lost her life in the incident, which sparked public outrage. The police filed charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Allu Arjun, his team, and the theatre management, accusing the actor of conducting a roadshow without permission, which allegedly contributed to the tragedy.

The actor has been criticized for not visiting the injured boy or expressing condolences to the family. However, his father, producer Allu Arvind, visited the hospital twice, presenting a cheque for Rs 2 crore to the victim's family during his last visit on December 25. Allu Arjun had previously contributed Rs 1 crore, while the film’s producers, Mythri Movies, donated Rs 50 lakh. Director Sukumar also extended a contribution of Rs 50 lakh.

On December 13, Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with the case and remanded to judicial custody. He was granted interim bail on the same day by the Telangana High Court and released the following day. On January 3, the Nampally Court granted him regular bail, which included a condition for him to report to the Chikkadpally Police Station every Sunday.
