The Hollywood awards season officially begins with the announcement of the 82nd Golden Globe nominations, unveiled by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut.

Among the highlights, Payal Kapadia’s Cannes-winning film, All We Imagine As Light, received two major nods: Best Motion Picture (Non-English Language) and Best Direction (Motion Picture). The film, which also won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, has been selected by France to represent the country at the Oscars 2025.

The ceremony is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on January 5, 2025, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser. Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner will helm the event, marking their second consecutive year as showrunners. Special honors include the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Viola Davis and the Carol Burnett Award for Ted Danson, celebrating their contributions to film and television, respectively.
