Chennai: The first look of Kaathal - The Core starring Mammootty and Jyothika is out. The poster was tweeted by the megastar on Jyothika's birthday.

The poster showed both actors in a black and white photograph with a '90s vibe. Mammootty captioned it with a birthday wish to his co-star. He wrote: "Here's unveiling the title of Mammootty Kampany's next project Directed by Jeo Baby. Kaathal - The Core. Wishing a very happy birthday to Jyotika."

Kaathal will be Jyothika's third Malayalam film after Raakkilipattu and Seetha Kalyanam. After coming back to the silver screen after a break, she has been handpicking good quality projects and fans have been impressed with her. She was last seen in Udanpirappe, co-starring M. Sasikumar and Samuthirakani. Jyothika also enjoyed success as a producer when her project Soorarai Pottru starring her husband Suriya won the Best Feature Film Award at 68th National Film Awards.

Mammootty was last seen in the neo-noir psychological thriller drama Rorschach and he has several films like Christopher and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam in the pipeline. However, Bilal - a sequel to his 2007 hit Big B is the most awaited one.

It is produced by Mammootty's banner Mammootty Kampany and distributed by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films. Filmmaker Jeo Baby is known for the hit film The Great Indian Kitchen and Malayalam audiences are eager for his next film.
