Dulquer Salmaan wins big at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards

Mumbai: Dulquer Salmaan bagged the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards, 2023 for his performance in the 2022-released acclaimed Bollywood film, Chup-Revenge of the Artist.

The R Balki directorial featured Salmaan in the role of a florist, with a traumatic past in the film.

The pan Indian star attended the award ceremony, looking dapper in a black and grey jacket, which he paired with black kurta and matching trousers and shoes.

The function held on February 20, Monday, was attended by some of the biggest names from both Bollywood and the South Indian film industry including actor-director Rishab Shetty who won the award for the Most Promising Actor for his 2022-released blockbuster Kantara.

SS Rajamouli directorial RRR bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the Film Of The Year while The Kashmir Files won the Best Film award.

R Balki won the Best Director award for Chup- Revenge of the artist.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher took home the award for the Most Versatile Actor Of The Year for The Kashmir Files.

Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor award for Brahmastra Part One: Shiva and his wife and actor Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress award for Gangubhai Khatiawadi.

Veteran actor Rekha was honoured with an award for her ‘Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry’.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is the country’s highest award in the field of cinema.
