Doing OTT shows created a certain perception of stereotype, says Radhika Apte
text_fieldsBollywood actress Radhika Apte is known for choosing experimental projects and giving life to characters from many facets of life. But the actress says that she has been stereotyped in the industry for doing too many OTT shows and movies.
Recalling how, at one point, there were memes about her being part of almost every other show that came out on the web, Apte says it is just a "perception". On the other hand, viewers were also happy that she is part of such varied projects. "The whole thing was quite unexpected and also a bit disproportionate because it is not that I was doing too many OTT projects or anything. I think other people are doing far more."
"It is just a perception that was created due to a certain thing at a certain time but no publicity is bad publicity. There is a perception created but some people buy into it and some people think oh you are doing too much work and I thought you are too busy. It is a multifaceted concept so I can’t answer this directly," she added.
When Times Now asked her what is the process of saying yes or no to a movie or show, Apte said that she tried to maintain a balance between projects that give creative satisfaction and fulfill the monetary requirement. "Some that are a mix of everything. That’s how I choose my projects because not everything you can do that you want, only for creative satisfaction either. Sometimes it is nice to do something commercial because it is a lot of fun as well."
Radhika was last seen in the Netflix film 'Monica, O My Darling' and ZEE5 'Mrs Undercover'.
