2024 has been a significant year for actress Triptii Dimri, with her roles in Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Now, she’s set to star alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi in Dhadak 2, the sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, which originally featured Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles.

Photos of Triptii and Siddhant with fans, presumably taken on set, have recently surfaced, marking the official start of filming.

Dhadak 2 is directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar, Umesh KR Bansal, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, and Somen Mishra under Zee Studios, Dharma Productions, and Cloud 9 Pictures.

In May, Johar revealed a motion poster for Dhadak 2, hinting at a storyline addressing caste and class discrimination. The clip featured powerful slogans like “Educate, agitate, organize” and “Resistance becomes equality,” setting a socially conscious tone.

The plot centers on Neelesh, played by Chaturvedi, and Vidhi, portrayed by Dimri. Their love story is marred by caste divides, with Neelesh painfully reminding Vidhi of the harsh reality that in her idealized future, he has no place. Vidhi’s emotional response highlights the depth of their struggle: “Then, Neelesh, what should I do with these feelings?”

Set to release on November 22, 2024, Dhadak 2 is inspired by the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal by Mari Selvaraj.
