Deepfake video of Kajol emerges following Rashmika Mandanna and Katrina Kaif

After circulating deepfake content involving Rashmika Mandanna and Katrina Kaif, a new digitally manipulated video featuring Bollywood actress Kajol has surfaced online.
The video portrays a woman with Kajol's face morphed onto her body, seemingly changing clothes on camera. However, fact-checking platforms like BoomLive clarified that the original video was of an English social media influencer, part of the 'Get Ready With Me' trend on TikTok.
This deepfake video gained traction on social media, misleading many into believing it was Kajol herself.
Various websites and fact-checkers highlighted that the video underwent manipulation using artificial intelligence tools, capable of altering a person's face in visuals, leading to the creation of fabricated content.
The influencer, identified as Rosie Breen, initially shared the video on TikTok on June 5, 2023, as part of the 'Get Ready With Me' trend. In the modified video now circulating widely, Breen's face was replaced with that of Kajol's, portraying the actress seemingly changing attire and displaying her body.
This latest incident has sparked even more concerns surrounding deepfake technology, especially after similar instances involving other actresses.
A digitally manipulated image of Katrina Kaif from the movie 'Tiger 3' surfaced online, altering the original scene where the actress was seen fighting a stuntwoman in a towel. The manipulated version depicted her in different attire.
In another instance involving Rashmika Mandanna, a deepfake video showed a woman entering an elevator while her face was digitally altered to resemble the actor. This spreading of manipulated content raised alarms about the proliferation of unreliable information across social media platforms.
Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan urged legal action against such misleading content, emphasising its alarming nature.
Responding to the manipulated video, Rashmika Mandanna expressed her concern, labelling it as "extremely scary." Subsequently, the Delhi Police registered an FIR against unknown individuals in Mandanna's case and later questioned a 19-year-old from Bihar suspected of being the first to upload the deepfake video on social media.
