The Bombay High Court has ordered an interim injuction on behalf of actress Amura Dastur in the defamation case she filed against Luviena Lodh for statements made on social media.

Justice Chavan of the Bombay HC bench issued the order which restricts Lodh from commenting, circulating on or publishing any further defamatory remarksregarding Dastur on social media or any public platforms until the matter is resolved.

Luviena Lodh had earlier made a video on Instagram alleging threat to her life from Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and ex-husband Sumit Sabherwal, claiming that she had seen evidence of Sabherwal supplying drugs to actresses like Amyra Dastur and Sapna Pabbi.

Advocate Bedi submitted a tweet regarding the same to the court, contending that "such libelous and defamatory statements on the social media have caused harm and damage to the reputation of the plaintiff in the eyes of the public and in the society at large."

Lodh's lawyer countered with the claim that his client had not defamed anyone and that she was willing to undergo narco-analysis in order to prove the truth of her words. Another bench of the Court had earlier restricted Lubiena Lodh from making statements against Mahesh Bhatt and his brother Mukesh in a separate defamation case filed by them.
